After earning a BS in editing, writing, and media from Florida State University, Ryan joined the Miami New Times staff in November 2013 as a web editor and eventually music editor, where he once had lunch with DJ Khaled. Since then he’s won first place awards from the Florida Press Association, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Florida Magazine Association as well as third place honors in the 2016 Green Eyeshade Awards. He is now the editor of Infatuation Miami and has written for places like New York Times, Washington Post, Billboard, Vice, A.V. Club, American Way, and Fort Lauderdale Magazine when he's not busy trying to earn the trust of stray cats.
